The NCDC Core Committee meeting felicitated the medal winners of the 22nd Commonwealth Games. Meerabai Chanu won gold in women’s 49 kg category weightlifting , Jeremy Lalrinnunga won gold in men’s 67 kg category weightlifting, Achinta Shivalia won gold in men’s 73 kg category weightlifting, Bindyarani Devi won silver medal in women’s 55 kg category weightlifting, Sanket Mahadev Sargar won silver medal in 55 kg category weightlifting and Sanket Mahadev Sargar won 61 kg category weightlifting. The committee also felicitated Gururaja Pujari who won bronze in men’s weightlifting. The committee members opined that these athletes have given India a golden feather with their resounding success at the Commonwealth Games.
