Fifteen-year-old Azim Velimanna, who is 90% physically disabled has bravely swam the widest part of the Periyar river in Aluva. The National Child Development Council (NCDC) had announced a token of appreciation of Rs. 25,000 /- to Asim. Yesterday Dr.Sruti Ganesh (NCDC program coordinator) handed over the same to Azim Velimanna at the press club Kozhikkode.
