Man breaks world record for eating Carolina reaper chili peppers

A Canadian man with a love for spicy food broke a Guinness World Record by eating three Carolina reaper chili peppers — the hottest chili peppers in the world — in under 10 seconds.

Guinness shared video of Mike Jack downing the three peppers in 9.72 seconds during his attempt in London, Ontario.The record-keeping organization said the rules required each pepper to weigh at least 0.18 ounces.

Jack also had to provide a certificate verifying the chili peppers he ate during the attempt were in fact Carolina reapers.
