What is NLP?
What is NLP or Neuro-Linguistic Programming and how is it useful for children?
Simply put, NLP teaches kids (and adults) how to use their brain properly (neuro) and how to use language (linguistic) to understand others more clearly, express themselves more effectively, and understand why what they say to themselves is so very important as they are developing self-esteem. NLP teaches kids how to use strategies for personal success now and in their future (programming).
NLP is the study of the mind through modeling excellence. How we process information through a series of filters in our minds will determine our internal state and consequently our behaviors. With NLP, children learn how to be in a resourceful state rather than a reactive one.
With NLP, there are a variety of techniques used to release negative emotions, fear, limiting beliefs, phobias, anxiety, unwanted behaviors, and even help with spelling. When children learn how their conscious and unconscious or subconscious mind works and what their jobs are – they can start realizing their personal power.
How does this type of coaching work? NLP is used with children on an individual basis and not in a group setting. Parents are invited to be near and within hearing distance. A complimentary 30 min. consultation is available to discuss your child’s needs and what your goals are while working with me as a coach and guide. This is not therapy. It is an educational and results-oriented process in a relatively short period of time.
As a Certified Practitioner and Coach of Neuro-Linguistic Programming and a Practioner of Time Therapy®, I am able to offer these effective techniques for children along with using the Adventures in Wisdom™ curriculum or another customized curriculum to suit the needs of the child.
