Introduction:

Aesthetic Development is the mental ability of a person to see beauty and joy in nature, natural things and phenomenon. The beauty one feels may not feel in another. So we say beauty is having one’s own eyes. Anyway the aesthetic skill of one expresses his personality and increases creativity. From birth onwards we need efforts to increase the aesthetic skills of one and allow involvement in creative activities. This type of development reduces the destruction and attacking tendency in the human mind.

Aesthetic Skill Formation in Children

The aesthetic skills in children form through figures, colours, sounds, rhythms, fragrance etc.

a. Figures: The figure of a thing or a creature forms different emotional poses in children. They may like some special figured animals and they may hate some others. Usually children like and observe with curiosity figures like circle, square and triangle.

b. Colours: Usually children like hard colours like red, dark yellow, blue, green etc. That is why these colours are usually used in puppets.

c. Sounds: Children usually like sounds having low recurrence. Sounds having high recurrence may create fear in children. Children normally like the sounds of birds and animals.

d. Rhythm: Children more enjoy the songs and sounds having rhythm and melody. Cradle- songs are the result of this reason.

e. Fragrance: Usually children like things having fragrance. They like fruits and flowers having both good sight and fragrance.

Creativity:

Creativity is the skill of a person to make an innovative thing or an idea. Personal differences may happen in the case of creative skill. But, all have creativity naturally. By giving correct and timely encouragement, we can increase it. Parents and teachers have a good role to do this. They need to give chances to do different learning activities to all children by considering their skills and talents.
